I just booked flights to madrid and barcelona

Only took 5 hours in computer lab:(

Also--french guy who speaks little english but decent spanish keeps calling and from payphones no less so i won't know that it's him! And leaves the sorries messages..hi..ez claude...eh how are you, aleyza. Ok. I have a question for you eh, how are you keeping? Eh call me back ok? IF you want..(then a sigh) byeee.

And before you think i'm this coldhearted madam--i called him and wrote out in SPANISH beforehand the message i left--that i am a bit intimidated by all his calls and that i don't have time or desire currently for a boyfriend yadda yadda because he just was not getting it and just yikes--he calls like 6 times in a row. Makes me feel all antsy like.

Also, the strawberry icecream here is really good.

Food for for thought.

Hey all:)

Sorry for delay in writing but i've been doing work--which you all probably know from experience(except maybe you heineman who probably isn't even reading this) that that is B-O-R-I-N-G.

But i think i've finally made irish friends! I went to this writing society reading last nite at this coffee shop--but no one showed. So i kinda shrugged and decided to get some tea anyways and read some yehuda amachai. While i'm reading this girl sheila who i met a few weeks ago breifly sees me sitting there by my lonesome and invites me to sit with her and her three friends. These girls are GREAT! One of them was wearing a push up bra and another totally called her on it and they shrieked and laughed about it and it totally made me feel cozy. They're so sarcastic and just pile the sarcasm on top of one another making this bubbly sarcastsm tower.

One of them, Babs(haha) invited me to a small party she's having tonight and I think i'm a gonna go.

ALso-had my first(fiiinally) irish coffee. whooooeee is it good. YUM.

So, i'm hypothetically off to write this coherant and in depth essay on ulysses but i've been kicked out of two computer labs now and its just impossible to find a quiet place to do work...tsk tsk.

fond regards,

St Patty's Day Part 2(By popular request)

I arrived in Dublin at 11:30 Am which was cool--the airlines losing my luggage and the girl who i was suppose to stay with not answering her phone was NOT COOL. So, i basically decided to cut my loses and take the bus back to galway. I passed by many a parade and i think St. Patty's day is really like Ireland's July 4th--fireworks, big floats, moon walks, drunk irishmen...hmm maybe not that last part. I didn't really partake that much caus i was severly sleep deprived and out of it. But not to worry my friends sure did--included one newly 21 yr old Marcus Frosties.

WHOAH. it was THE DRUNKEST. it was the LIVELIEST. It was the Pattiest day of the yr.

I really wish i had more stories...oh well this guy stripped and jumped off a short bridge into the river--does that count?

P.S How can you tell if a guy is sketchy--or just foreign?

P.P.S Tentative Break Plans:
Ireland with Laura and Friend March
Ireland w/Naomi and Rebecca April 4-11
Madrid April 11-16
Barcelona April 16-21
Amsterdam w/Max April 21-25

I Adore everyone who is reading this. Because everyone who is reading this is a friend and you guys have amazing--momentous--of volcanic proportions. I am BACK. I am OK. I am GRATEFUL. And my sink is CLOGGED.

Last night was St. Patricks Day which actually seems to be somewhat of an irish independance day. Everyone was waving their flags in the brilliant irish air, there were parades, boucny toys for kids and everyone was of course drunk off their bum. Except me--because i was delirous from not sleeping for 20 hours and confused because my luggage was MIA and then this irish boy tried to give me this dog that was following him and then the luggage people called and he kept calling this black lab Benny but then his name was conner? And then, the french guy who i met on the bus that day who asked if it was possoble to see me again called and i thought it was the luggage people and was sooo confused.

But i think confusion is the undeclared national irish past time--so it's ok.

Wow this guy sitting in the row ahead of me is totally watching anime porn. GROSS. And yet--a throwback to friday nights freshman yr when i often got stuck with all the boys who lived in THE DONNER DUNGEON and who insisted that anime was cinema. Yes, there is no need to wonder why i transfered annny more. haha those kids were classic though.

Anyways just biding my time until spring break and Laura and Naomi and Rebecca's arrival...and considering whether or not to finish ulysses. I'm at page 304 out of 9_ _ and have a 2500 word essay that basically calls for a ton of research but not necessarily a reading of the book.

Someone once asked James Joyce what he did during the Great War(WW1)

His reply?

I wrote Ulysses. What did you do?

Hilarious.

5 Questions)

1) Should I stay in Ireland for Summer?
2) When should I go home in the next month?
3)Why can't all people respect the imagination/those people who are tired of living the same boring lives day after day and therefore believe in magic?
4) How can everyone feel so alone all the time? Isn't that, somehow, oxymoranic?
5) What music are you listening to right now?

5a) Those of you in europe--where will u be in the month of april and would u want to meet up/can i visit ya?

p.s I'm having a bit of a trouble spot right now...at home...all love/letters/emails/PHONE CALLS/would be much adored.
